Let’s start with the apology… it turns out that it is extremely difficult (for me) to keep up with blog posts and travel around the country. I’ve been in 4 states plus the District of Columbia in the past 2+ weeks. I haven’t managed to see a single show (though I did go to the theater while I was visiting NYC) and now it’s time to head home to my city by the bay. I apologize to all of you for not keeping the blog updated.

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk music!!!

St. Paul and the Broken Bones are AMAZING! They are soulful and talented and they bring it ALL when they play. I can still remember the first time I saw them at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass a few years ago. It was hot hot hot (weather-wise) and everyone was trying to stay cool and this dude comes out on stage dressed in a suit and performs his set for us like he’s not melting. I remember being totally blown away. I’ve seen them since at The Fillmore and loved them all over again.

I really want to go see them tonight, but my flight doesn’t get in until evening and I have a difficult time believing that I am going to get home after all this time away and immediately turn around and head to the UC Theatre. You should go and tell me all about it!
