Welcome to my Crazy Head

tldr: Front Country is playing 5/16 in Philly, Bishop Briggs is playing Union Transfer (in Philly) 5/18. Front Country is playing 2/17 at Slim’s with Ben and Alex Morrison of the Brothers Comatose, and The Sam Chase and The Untraditional.

I feel like you need to know a little about me. I think about music *all* the time.  That’s what you need to know for today.

So I’m sitting here working from home and I start to think about the fact that my cousin, Caitlin, had pinged me about a Front Country show in Philadelphia. She wanted to see if the show coincided with my upcoming trip to PHL-NYC-DC.  The Front Country show is at Bourbon & Branch on Wednesday, May 16th. If you aren’t familiar with Front Country and you are a bluegrass/americana fan (not necessarily traditional bluegrass), you should check them out.  They started in San Francisco, but just when I was getting to know them they moved to Nashville. I have seen them numerous times on both coasts. They are talented and they are really nice people. When my cousin, Caitlin, came to visit me, I took her to see this band on her first jet-lagged night and she loved them.

But I digress, the point of this story is that I started to research the Front Country show to see if it was a reality.  It’s not! As I was researching, I ended up on the Union Transfer calendar website and found that Bishop Briggs is playing at UT on Friday, May 18th which could be a reality.  I missed Bishop Briggs when she played in San Francisco; I can’t remember why, but I did. I think I may have actually missed her twice. Regardless, it looks like I might be seeing her in May and now I can’t stop listening to her.  Needless to say, the working part of my day is not as productive as I may have hoped. I’m gonna try again now with a background soundtrack of Bishop Briggs.

Though Front Country in Philly is not a reality for me, I do have tickets to see them next Friday, February 17th at Slim’s.  Ben and Alex Morrison (from The Brothers Comatose – my favorite local band) will be playing as well as The Sam Chase and the Untraditional and I’m not the only one holding tickets. It looks like it’s going to be a night and I can’t wait to see everyone!
